Note to Caregivers

Creating an environment that supports Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is crucial. Here are some tips to help you:
-Let your child play independently and without interruptions to maintain their focus. Ask open-ended questions at the right moments to encourage expression without disrupting their play.
-By 2 years, you can begin teaching your child geometric shapes and identifying major emotions on the Mood Meter.
-Around age 3, introduce the concept of empathy by using the Mood Meter to explain your own feelings. This helps them understand emotions and relate to others.
-At 4 years and older, play games with the Mood Meter to help your child decode emotions and learn how to manage them. Point to expressions and discuss what they mean or how to respond to them.
